When Ford divested itself of its premier marques – Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover – it left it with little wriggle room to compete in anything but the mainstream car market. Ford in Europe is trying to address that by launching ‘Vignale’ badged cars which promise to offer more ‘Premium quality’ than its mainstream models, and Ford in the US is doing the same thing by trying to reinvent the Lincoln badge as the answer to German premium models. It’s been a much debated subject for years: what should Lamborghini’s third model be? Should it be the super saloon Lamborghini Estoque or a super SUV aimed at China?
The 2014 Nissan Maxima 3.5 S goes on sale this week and costs $31,810, including destination. The upgraded Maxima 3.5 SV now costs $34,900. The S model keeps the same price as 2013, while the SV goes up about $800.
